The Awesomeness of Daily DOCs

  You do not have to forecast to gain the benefits of a DOC. But it helps:
- In our experience, forecasts are essential to realizing all the benefits of a DOC. It is hard to achieve without setting a goal.
- If you don't want to forecast though, a DOC is still essential to knowing how the dealership is performing, and pacing, for the month.
- Our no-stress forecasting system is easy for your team and affordable.
Although an approved forecast is helpful it is not always necessary. A store can use one of their better months in place of a forecast.
  One of the most important parts of your DOC is your goals, aka forecasts. Here’s why:
- The DOC will compare the month’s pace to the forecast, i.e. your goal, every day. It keeps your performance on track.
- We make it easy for all managers (and others) to forecast the DOC lines that apply to them.
- On the 25th of the prior month, managers are emailed a link to a form. The form shows them a 4-month trend with an average. They input a few key stats such as Unit counts, Sales & Gross per Unit. All calculations are automatic.
With an approved forecast everyone is aiming for the same outcome for the month. And the DOC tells everyone where they stand in relation to that outcome.
  The DOC works for you! The DOC does not have to be accounting data only.
- We recommend that the front-end DOC be prepared using finance system data. Delivered or Booked deals only. It is, however, customizable.
- Fixed Ops transactions are typically posted daily so accounting data is usually timely and therefore adequate for the back-end DOC.
- Data is extracted from your DMS nightly without inconveniencing your dealership personnel.
Imagine knowing how many deals were delivered yesterday without waiting for them to be posted.
  Security is important! DOCs need to be distributed securely to the recipients.
- Ideally the DOC should be hosted on SharePoint which is secure and included with your Microsoft 365 subscription at no extra cost.
- The DOC is typically announced daily to recipients via email with a link to their customized DOC showing only authorized information.
- The link in the email will only work for the individual addressed in the email and will show them only the part of the DOC they are entitled to see.
- The link, if forwarded to another employee (or outside the dealership), will not work if the person does not have permission or if they are not on your network.
- Your information is always available, but only to the individual authorized to access.
- Sometimes it is a challenge to keep people from wanting to print reports, but it is more secure to view the reports online in a permission-controlled setting.
- This is customizable. We do have clients that insist on a PDF of the DOC in the email which they print. Although not recommended, this practice is fine if security is not a concern.
